Our Charity & Community Support

As part of Attwells Solicitors ethos we believe in supporting our local community. This takes many forms, including giving our time.

Attwells provide support to the Felixstowe and Chelmsford Citizen Advice Bureaus (CABs) and local racial equality centres. The CABs provide an essential means of support and guidance to many in the community. Lloyd Clarke and Jamie Hercus support the good work the CABs do by providing the essential expert legal advice on employment matters. Nick Attwell personally supports a number of local charities by providing expert property advice to a value of several thousand pounds including The Mix Stowmarket and Emmaus Suffolk. Emmaus Suffolk is a homelessness charity where Nick Attwell is supporting them on working on a new model of property ownership.

In addition, staff members have signed up to be support advisors for Volunteering Matters, a charity which supports young people who have suffered sexual abuse.

Last year Attwells donated and raised £4563.00 for charity. These charities included, FIND (Families in Need) who are our chosen charity, Papworth Trust, EACH (East Anglia's Children's Hospices), Macmillan, St. Elizabeth’s hospice and St. John’s Hospice, which is located next door to our London office.

We have achieved this through a series of dress-down days, bake-offs and events, such as the Dragon Boat Race for Fresh Start New Beginning.

Attwells are also proud sponsors of this years Ipswich Jazz Festival on 21st until 23rd June. For more information or to book tickets please visit the Ipswich Jazz Festival Website.

  • Citizens Advice – Felixstowe & District are pleased to be able to offer as part of their support for their clients, appointments on a pro-bono basis with a legal professional on employment issues which fall outside the scope of their trained advisers.  We are pleased to use the services of Attwells Solicitors of Ipswich for these purposes and Jamie Hercus from Attwells has been supporting our clients on these issues for some while.

Jamie has built up an excellent working relationship with the staff & volunteers at Citizens Advice in Felixstowe and his knowledge and support is respected and welcomed by those in the office who he has advised on client matters.  He is both polite & courteous with the clients he sees in our office and whilst always maintaining a professional relationship, is able to put the client at ease and build a rapport which allows the client to freely and with confidence, appraise him of the situation on which they are requesting his guidance.  Feedback from those clients who Jamie has seen is very positive and we are aware that Jamie – on behalf of his firm, has been requested to take further action on behalf of clients outside of the initial 30 minute pro-bono appointment.  We are extremely grateful to Jamie and Attwells for providing this welcome and valuable additional service in support of our clients.
